Strict Residual Distinguishability of Continuous-Time Switched Linear Systems with Disturbances

Abstract

A continuous-time switched linear system with deterministic disturbances is considered in this paper. The distinguishability of the linear systems used to model the switched system is studied. Parity residuals of the linear systems are used to study this property. In this context, a notion of strict residual distinguishability is introduced. The paper develops two mains results: a necessary and sufficient condition for characterizing strict residual distinguishability and an index for quantifying the degree of strict residual distinguishability of the linear systems.
