Meeting in Harsh Conditions
Résumé
My HDR (french acronym for "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches") primarily focuses on the research I conducted concerning a fundamental task in the coordination of mobile agents – that of "meeting". Although it may seem basic at first glance, this task serves as both a foundational building block and an essential prerequisite for accomplishing much more complex missions. Throughout my studies, I approached this problem from an algorithmic perspective, often operating under drastic conditions, such as an erratic asynchrony, the presence of Byzantine faults, or a lack of direct means of communication. Most of the time, these conditions transformed the task of meeting into a formidable challenge. In my HDR, I provide an overview of the positive and negative results I obtained through this approach.
