Phenomenon of Backchannels within the dialogical movements constituting the clinical interview
Résumé
Our questioning concerns the way in which behaviour, which could be described as "support", manifests itself during a dialogical exchange of a clinical type. More precisely, does it, and if so, to what extent, reflect a singular form of relationship? A singular form that could be compared to the notion of "therapeutic alliance" during the clinical interview? The patient suffering from a psychiatric illness is led to verbalize certain psychological sufferings that are associated with the propositional content of the statements, while the psychologist is in an attitude of listening and empathy, and tries to attenuate this painful experience, which sometimes leads, that is to say in certain dialogical configurations, to a shift in the representations. The idea is to bring to light certain dialogical constraints which would be associated with the triggering of this shift phenomenon.
