What “influencer” can mean. The mechanisms of logos beyond pathos in a journalistic column on Facebook

Résumé

The denomination « influencer » that circulates in digital social networks and traditional media has a lexical meaning only built from « influence » and around which stereotypes are deployed. In addition to the presence of elements of meaning, the discourses make its meaning emerge through a double form of influence : intellectual influence and affective influence. They fix in these speeches the contours of the figure or the "ethos" of the influencer through a specific « tone » which crosses the enunciation of the values or argued ideas that he defends and let appear his « pathos », the « genericity » of his speeches, their levels of styles, their characteristic connectors and their central rhetorical figure.
