This paper deals with the thermomechanical viscoplastic behavior of metal matrix composites. A constitutive
model, based on a variant of Dvorak’s Transformation Field Analysis, is implemented to investigate the response
of an Al/Al2O3 composite to an anisothermal, cyclic loading. Comparisons are carried out between the predictions
of the model and experimental data. The validation of the model and its implementation in the finite element code
ABAQUS through a user defined material subroutine are discussed.
