Rate constant of the reaction of F atoms with methane over the temperature range 220–960 K
Résumé
Reaction F + CH4 → HF + CH3 (1) has been studied using a discharge flow reactor combined with mass spectrometry in the temperature range 220–960 K. The rate constant of the reaction was determined using both absolute and relative rate measurements: k1 = (1.28 ± 0.04) × 10−10 exp(−(219 ± 9)/T) cm3molecule−1s−1 (the uncertainties represent precision at the 2σ level, the estimated total uncertainty on k1 being 15% at all temperatures). The kinetic data from the present work are discussed in comparison with previous measurements and theoretical calculations.
