A versatile GATE actor to perform simulations of Compton Camera systems
Résumé
Compton Cameras are gamma-ray imaging devices, which consists of a stack of detector-layers working in time coincidence. They have been proposed and studied for a wide range of applications, with a growing interest in the field of medical imaging and therapy monitoring in the last decades. Monte Carlo (MC) simulations play an essential role in the design and optimization of such a system. GATE (Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission) is a widely used open-source simulation toolkit dedicated to medical physics applications, which already contains modules for SPECT and PET imaging allowing the simulations of a broad range of experimental settings by using macros.
