Résumé

In this paper, we describe the preparation and characterization of a thin silver film deposited on a non-conducting epoxy glass (EG) substrate, previously sensitized with tin chloride (SnCl2) by electroless plating technique. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the deposits showed pure crystalline structure with grain size of about 20 nm. The electrochemical reactivity of the prepared electrodes (Ag/EG) was studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) method for electrochemical sensing of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in 0.01 M pH 7.0 phosphate buffer. The results have shown that the electroless deposition time has a significant effect on the catalytic activity of the electrode. Moreover, the reduction peak current showed a linear dependence on the H2O2 concentration. A linear calibration curve over the range from 1 μM to 3.75 mM was obtained with a sensitivity of 155.32 μA cm–2 mM–1. The detection limit is evaluated to be 0.5 μM.
