Generalized Inverse Impulse Response for dynamic monitoring and control of structures

Real-time monitoring and control of solids and structures, based on the the solution of the equations of motion, remains a challenge mainly due to its computational complexity. For such a purpose, both direct and inverse formulations of the dynamic problem must be addressed. In this work, we propose computing parametric solutions of the inverse problem by combining classic regularization techniques and the Proper Generalized Decomposition method. This approach could potentially allow for the design of a generalized control system, which might be able to control the structure for changing conditions, defined by the parameters.
