The object of this article is to discuss a conjecture of Greenberg and its links to the Galois inverse problem. We show that it is related to well established conjectures in algebraic number theory and that some particular cases are corollaries of known results. Finally, we do numerical experiments which allow to formulate new conjectures which imply Greenberg's conjecture.
