Network-based Conflict Resolution in Business Processes
Résumé
With the latest development in social technologies
(e.g., on-line communities and social networks), there is a
renewed interest in embracing these technologies to address
conflicts hampering business-processes successful completion.
This paper discusses a coordination framework that
regulates the interactions between the three components of
a business process namely task, person, and machine, when
conflicts related to resource consumption occur. These components
are connected to peers through specialized various
networks known as substitution, peering, collaboration, etc.
The realization of this framework goes through three steps:
conflict identification per type of component, impact assessment
of these conflicts on business-process completion,
and network use to develop solutions for these conflicts. A
proof-of-concept system is under-development to validate
the coordination framework.
