The Network-based Business Process
Résumé
Tremendous efforts and resources are put into achieving enterprise agility. Business processes are the first concerned with these efforts and resources since they constitute the know-how of any enterprise. Processes are classified into structured and unstructured. The former are well formed, often repetitive, and call for intense coordination among stakeholders. The latter are loosely defined and call for stakeholders’ personal experiences and social interactions. This technical note demystifies the social interactions upon which network-based business processes are developed, structures them for better tracking, and analyzes their value-added to the enterprise operation.
