Résumé

This paper is aimed at the determination of the characteristics of discharge propagating over discontinuously polluted insulators under bi-exponential waves simulating switching impulse voltages, using a predictive dynamic model based on an equivalent electrical network. This model enables to compute the current, electrical charge, instantaneous propagation velocity and channel radius of the discharge, and the flashover voltage for different distributions and conductivities of deposits. The simulated results are first validated with experimental data obtained with an electrolytic model representing a surface with a deposit uniformly distributed and then extended to discontinuously polluted surface.
