nsPEF waveform efficiency: a microdosimetric comparison between real and ideal pulses

Résumé

The application of nanosecond pulse electric field on biological cells produced relevant consequences. One of the most interesting effects involves cell membranes rearrangements, i.e. nano-poration. To quantitatively investigate such effect on a single cell, the electric field as well as the transmembrane potential within cell membrane were evaluated, and consequently the pore density distribution quantified. Ideal and real pulses waveforms were compared in order to investigate the different efficiencies.
