A tele-operated robotic system for mobile tele-echography : the Otelo project

Résumé

In routine examination, various pathological situations like "abnormal heart rate, pericardic collection, cholecystis, renal lithiasis, normal and ectopic pregnancies, ovarian cyst, acute appendicitis, phlebitis..." may occur in subjects without any serious medical history; on the other hand after a trauma, the medical doctor may look for an abdominal organ lesion with blood collection. Ultrasound echography and Doppler are non invasive methods that are very well adapted for the diagnosis of such anomalies and are currently used in routine and in emergency cases at the hospital.
