Impact of network topology on matched-pulse-based fault detection

Résumé

An evaluation of the performance of the Matched-Pulse approach and the standard Time-Domain Reflectometry is presented. The effect of the network topology on their effectiveness is studied, first through physical interpretation, then by means of a mathematical analysis. All the discussed ideas are finally illustrated through simulation results.
