DTG4.1: A practical experiment on semantic enrichment in a homogeneous environment
Résumé
The task group “Semantic Enrichment of Models and Architecture & Platforms” focuses on one of the claims of the INTEROP NoE: improve interoperability solutions and practices by combining concepts and techniques coming from three domains (Enterprise Modelling, Ontology, Architecture and Platforms). Semantic enrichment of enterprise models is performed thanks to the provision of semantic annotations associated with models and components (parts) of models: the main aim of these annotations is to make explicit the meaning of the models. Furthermore, the pragmatic approach that drives the task group activity led first to the study of components that constituted an environment for the experimentation. These components include a case study, an enterprise ontology together with enterprise modeling tools and an ontology management tool. The experimentation is intended to help in the discovery of some types of semantic annotations of interest for enterprise models. In this context, the tools are only used as facilitators for this identification: that means that the approach is not tool-dependent. This document reports on the materials for the experiment, together with the outcome of the experiment, considering perspectives of enterprise models (information, process, strategy, decision and organization perspectives).
