Magnetization dynamics induced by photons, phonons and electrons in (Ga,Mn)As
Résumé
(Ga,Mn)As is a semiconductor doped with a small percentage of magnetic atoms that behaves in many ways like a "real" ferromagnet. Although its Curie temperature has remained too low to use it for applications, I show in this manuscript how it has nevertheless served as a model system to test various strategies to improve magnetic data storage and logic technologies. In particular, I show that pulsed magnetic fields, currents, light and strain can trigger efficiently magnetization dynamics.
