A switched structured-H∞/IQC closed-loop for adult T1DM patients

Résumé

The paper presents our new results on ”non individualized” closed–loop for blood glucose regulation, for adult diabetic patients affected by Type-1 Diabetes Mellitus. A switched control solution is proposed to avoid severe hypo- and hyper-glycaemia. The design of the control solution is approached using the structured-H∞ robust control theory, to account for the inter- and intra-patient variability. Robust stability of the switched control law is proven using the integral quadratic constraint theory. The proposed control solution is assessed using the UVA/Padova T1DM metabolic simulator (v3.2), a benchmark recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration as a substitute for pre-clinical tests.
