Embedded optimization of 90° Hybrid couplers in power combined frequency doublers
Résumé
Power combined frequency multipliers at submillimeter wavelength feature two or more chips in parallel combined at their input / output ports with Y or hybrid junction elements. Each element of the structure is often optimized separately, assuming an ideally matched impedance at their waveguide interface. We investigate on the optimization of a 90° hybrid coupler when it is embedded at the input of frequency multiplier elements to minimize phase and amplitude imbalance, while keeping impedance matching across frequencies.
