Facile and Low Cost Synthesis of rCuO/WO 3 Composites for Electrochemical Detection of Uric Acid
Résumé
In this study, the band gap of WO 3 was altered using phytochemicals from the prunus domestica (plum) juice by changing the particle size, morphology, and crystalline properties. The synthesis of WO 3 was carried out with 0.5 ml (sample 1) and 1 ml (sample 2) of plum juice during the co-precipitation method, and the alteration of band gap was performed. The estimated optical band gap values for pristine WO 3 , as well as samples 1, and 2 of rWO 3 were 2.84, 2.55, and 2.42 eV, respectively. Later, sample 1 of rWO 3 was combined with the CuO to produce the rCuO@WO 3 composite. It possessed optical band gap of 1.91 eV and applied as an efficient electrocatalytic material in sensor configuration for the detection of uric acid (UA) in a phosphate buffer solution of pH 7.3. The rCuO@WO 3 composite exhibited a highly sensitive electrochemical signal for UA and possessed a linear range of 0.1 mM to 13 mM with a low limit of detection and quantification of 0.005 and 0.008 mM, respectively. Finally, the outstanding reproducibility, selectivity, and stability of the fabricated rCuO@WO 3 composites were observed.
