CO2 Purification of Industrial Flue Gas : The Role of Copper and Carbonate Species in the Selective Catalytic Reduction Process

Résumé

Copper and carbonates can play an important role for NO SCR by CO under oxidative and wet conditions towards promoting lower temperature of CO oxidation and higher N 2 selectivity and activity.

• The Redox treatments influenced Copper and Carbonates species differently:

The redox CO-CO 2 promoted the formation of additional active surface carbonates (mainly polydentate) shifting the N 2 yield to lower temperature. Additionally, Cu 2 O phase was detected promoting enhanced CO oxidation.

The redox CO-O 2 facilitated the formation of CoAl 2 O 4 spinel structure with the removal of carbonates and enhanced Copper cobalt interaction leading to the highest selectivity towards N 2 Yield for CoCuAl Air R CO-O 2 sample.
