Reduction of Magnetoelastic Coupling in Fe Thin Films by Nitrogen-Implantation, as determined by surface acoustic waves
Résumé
This article presents an approach for extracting magnetoelastic constants from surface acoustic wave (SAW) propagation experiments. Once the magnetocrystalline anisotropy is determined by standard techniques, the magnetoelastic coupling constant is then extracted by varying the angle between the SAW propagation direction and an external saturating magnetic field. Using these parameters, the variation in SAW velocity as a function of the external field can be accurately reproduced in surface acoustic wave induced ferromagnetic resonance (SAW-FMR) experiments, both in pristine and nitrogen-implanted Fe thin films. A significant reduction of the magnetoelastic coupling is observed for the α'-Fe8N1-x
