A new windtunnel for bypass transition : Design, Manufacturing and Characterization

This paper presents a new facility developped at ONERA. It is a new windtunnel dedicated to study bypass transition process considering a heat flow with a high freestream turbulence rate. This paper highlights the design and manufacturing steps required to develop such a facility. A short presentation of the available instrumentation will be given. The main roadmap and the procedure of the characterization of this new facility will be introduced and described.
