Beginning Teachers’ Motivational Trajectories: A Developmental Approach to Understand Profiles and Determinants of Motivation During the Transition From Initial Training to the First Years in the Profession
Résumé
This research investigates profiles and determinants of motivation among preservice and beginning teachers, by combining studies on developmental processes (variable-centered approach) and trajectories of motivation (person-centered approach). Research questions are framed within a person-environment fit approach, to understand how the degree fit (or misfit) between the characteristics of teachers and their study/working environment affects adaptation to the career, and which mediation mechanisms explain the relationship between fit/misfit and adaptation.
