Fast and easy flow-alignment technique of lyotropic liquid-crystalline hexagonal phases of block copolymers and surfactants

Résumé

The easy and fast flow-alignment technique of lyotropic liquid-crystalline hexagonal phases of block copolymers and surfactants was presented. The mosaic spreads of the samples measured by X-ray scattering compared favorably with those of the samples produced by the time-consuming alignment techniques. The simple 'capillary flow' technique described also found applications when the molecular orientation was required as in optical and spectroscopic investigations.
