The contribution of logistics to improving health care quality: a case study approach
Résumé
This research in a managerial vision tries to understand how inter-organisational logistical collaboration on physical (drugs, consumables, medical equipment and kits) and information flows contributes to improving the quality of care. The analysis of the content of the semi-structured interviews allowed us to discuss the two research proposals resulting from the literature review and their level of acceptance. The results show that the collaboration between the operators of the two supply chains, internal and external supply chains, contributes to improving care but under certain conditions. Recommendations have been made to many entities to improve logistical practices and the quality of care provided to patients. In doing so, our research thus contributes to compiling literature on hospital logistics and paves the way for more future research in the field of logistics in healthcare establishments.
