Uncertain Soils in Experimentation
Résumé
Soils provide vital ecosystem services in the fight against climate change; they are the subject of economical tensions; they are “returned to nature” when they are exposed to natural risks; they are the subject of citizen mobilization to defend the “commons”; etc. Urban soils, long considered by architects as surfaces to be urbanized, are moving. This paper examines how the practice of architecture and urban design firm ANMA is ecologizing itself through a research and exhibition project that enables it to provoke collaborations with naturalists, planning economists and graphic designers beyond the mandate.
