Résumé

This article focuses on the design and analysis of a diamagnetic levitating system. This system is composed of two essential components: an array of permanent magnets that are fixed, and a levitating Pyrolytic Graphite Sheet (PGS), able to move above the magnet array in the x and y directions. The PGS has diamagnetic properties allowing it to levitate above the magnet array due to the presence of a magnetic field. Multiple magnet array configurations are studied finding the opposite 2D to be the best for our case. The levitation of the PGS above the magnet array was accomplished at multiple positions and with different orientations. The magnetic flux B z, as well as the number of magnets in the array were two important points of focus in our design, showing an optimized prototype of 5 × 5 ×1 magnet array for our case.
