Effects of angularly-periodic torque variations on MCSA in non-stationary conditions

Résumé

In the field of industrial equipment diagnosis, especially in the case of rotating machinery, a mechanical defect on a rotating part of the machinery component causes angularly varying torque perturbations. This paper aims to investigate the influence of torque variations that may be produced by a localized mechanical defect on rotating machinery using Motor Current Signal Analysis (MCSA) method. The purpose from such investigation is to highlight angular and time modulations produced by the electrical-mechanical interactions in order to emphasize the complementarity of the time and angular representations mainly for diagnosis under non-stationary operating conditions.
