Design of a radio-frequency receiver for IoT communications using satellite in low earth orbit

Conception d'un récepteur radio pour communications IoT par satellite en orbite basse

Résumé

This paper describes the design of an Engineering Model (EM) IoT payload integrated in a low earth orbiting nanosatellite. This embedded radio frequency receiver device aim to demonstrate the performance of a LoRa like communication protocol. The under development communication protocol is an enhancement of the LoRa physical layer to make it resilient to frequency shift by implementing additional algorithmic features. The innovative differential approach of the transmitted information is anticipated to be a suitable solution for transceiver enabling direct earth to LEO (Low Earth Orbit) communication. An embedded test bench and some acquired results will also be discussed in the lasts parts.
