Beset with Disasters: Gender Dimensions of Global Crises and Resilience
Résumé
This keynote lecture has focused on gender dimensions of global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and related resilience. The primary purpose was to highlight gender differences that tend to exacerbate in crisis situations, such as overall gender inequality in disasters, health risks and outcomes, gender-sensitive mental health consequences of global crises, gender-based economic impact, and violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic. To conclude, I have discussed gender differences in resilience and how gender matters in a time of global crises.
