Using a Pedagogical Mini-Series to Teach Specialized Liaison Interpretation
Résumé
The paper describes the design of an innovative approach to materials development to teach specialized liaison interpretation. The lack of existing materials to practice liaison interpretation in accordance with the course objectives encouraged us to conceive a mini-series, the design of which relied on the idea that each episode should correspond to a particular specialized setting and aim to help students develop interpretation-related skills, acquire technical vocabulary of various specialized domains, and gain specialized knowledge. This paper will provide details concerning different stages of the design process, including collaboration with specialists, instructional considerations, and course evaluation.
