Intelligent modular design with holonic fuzzy agents

Résumé

The modular designs in recent times use various technologies along with multiple models. The effective utilization of the multiple models requires proper integration for them to work together as a cohesive system. This requirement calls for the development of intelligent models and tools that can be used for the development of intelligent modular products. The design of modular intelligent products requires to consider dynamically and holistically customer requirements, product functions, solutions, process or service constraints, and their fuzziness. This paper proposes using holonic fuzzy agents to fulfil the properties of intelligent models and the functional requirements of modular design. The set of fuzzy functions agents and their corresponding fuzzy solutions agents are found from the customization of the Product Service System in the sub-network fuzzy function agent– fuzzy solution agent. Then, from the attractor agent recognition, the fuzzy function and fuzzy solution agents interact to form the holonic fuzzy module agents. Holonic structure’s fundamental property is also followed by communication. The flexibility and agility of the software agent make holonic structure of intelligent modules adaptable. An application illustrates the proposed intelligent modular design.
