We show an inequality between the Faltings heights of some isogenous abelian varieties over a number field. We then deduce that the Faltings height is superadditive in short exact sequences and also prove that in each isogeny class the smallest Faltings height is attained on an abelian variety whose endomorphism ring is a maximal order.
