Da Parigi alle Svalbard : l’avventura di Léonie d’Aunet (1820-1879)
Résumé
Léonie d’Aunet is the first woman who travels in the far lands of the North, in 1837. She accompanies her husband François Biard, painter for a scientific commission, sent to the Svalbard Islands by the king of France. Her relation is particularly valuable, because of her female touch and her ability describing countries and understanding people’s manners, having not a specific education on these cultures.
