Chronique « Environnement et droits de l’Homme »

Résumé

Throughout 2022, the Human Rights-Based Approach finds itself timidly at the heart of international environmental negotiations, in a war context that does not enable real progress (I). Although initiatives have been undertaken to contemplate the governance of climate mobility, they are still far from sufficient regarding the protection challenge to be met (II). While most States have adopted their climate plans in accordance with their national contributions and the Paris Agreement, recent 'climate actions' have intensified and clarified the responsibilities of state and private actors from the perspective of human rights in the last year (III). Finally, the article focuses on the responsibilities of the private sector (IV) and European policies on environmental democracy (V).
