Simulation of the Thermal Behavior of NMC Module Under Different Electrical Scenarios
Résumé
Lithium-ion battery temperature prediction is vital when designing a suitable thermal management system. In the current study, the thermal behavior of a 4S4P module composed of 16 NMC pouch cells connected in series and parallel, is investigated. An analytical approach, based on the Newman, Tiedman, Gu, and Kim formulation, and on the thermal resistance network is developed and solved in MATLAB. The study is performed under two different electrical scenarios, where several current profiles are applied on the battery module, and the cells temperatures are predicted.
