Study of the construction of fictional narratives in the institutional context

Résumé

How does the construction of narratives, within the institutional framework, participate in a game of power, emotional dynamics and the notion of attention? To understand this relationship, we propose to study the process of elaborating fictional narratives commissioned by a French territorial organization to a work group involving internal and external stakeholders, including a university research team. First, we will first explain how fiction, used in the institutional domain, reveals ambivalences and creates tensions. Then, we will see how fiction mobilizes the interpretation capacity of individuals, feeds the dialectic between controversy and consensus, and participates in the ideation process to resolve and provoke emotional tensions. Finally, we will consider how fiction opens up spaces of interpretation, catalyzing emotional dynamics, power and contestation.
