Simulation of particles trajectory inside an electrostatic precipitator in asymmetrical wire-to-cylinder configuration
Résumé
Electrostatic precipitators are a universal apparatus widely used for industrial gas cleaning of solid and liquid particles. High collecting efficiencies and low energy expenditures are the main benefits of such devices. In this paper, the behavior of dust particles inside a novel type of electrostatic precipitator in asymmetrical wire-to-cylinder configuration is investigated numerically. To simulate particle trajectory in such configuration, many physics are combined in order to take into account: the space charge density, the electric filed distribution, the air flow profile, and particle charging process. Then, the numerical results are compared to our experimental data.
