Proceedings of the Dresden-Strasbourg Research Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property
Résumé
The recent surge in data collection as well as the ubiquity of artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven analysis have ushered in new products and extended human creativity. This paradigm shift is also driving fundamental challenges to intellectual property (IP) law, traditionally tasked with safeguarding human creativity. Issues regarding copyright, patenting AI-generated products, and access to protected data underscore these intricate dynamics. To address these complex issues, a dynamic interdisciplinary workshop has brought together law students and young researchers. Their unique viewpoints offer novel insights into the evolving IP and technology discourse. Held between Strasbourg and Dresden, the workshop incorporated seminars, debates, and student-led research projects. This publication represents the culmination of efforts by young researchers, providing a multifaceted view of the dynamic interplay between AI, data processing, and intellectual property.
