PIAGET ET L'ÉPISTÉMOLOGIE FRANÇAISE DU DÉBUT DU XXe SIÈCLE
Résumé
Jean Piaget came to Paris in 1919 to complete his psychological and philosophical training. This is the point of departure for a discussion of the conceptions of Henri Bergson, Léon Brunschvicg, André Lalande, among others, which marks his work. Piaget adopts an approach that aims at knowledge in motion, including its dimensions of invention and creation. He also emphasizes the fruitfulness of the historical-critical method. This did not prevent him from paying heed to the development of modern logic and to the doctrines that fed on it, such as logical empiricism. Hence an original position, which, refusing to lapse into anti-psychologism, allots psychology an essential role in the theory of knowledge.
