A group of little-known mosaics: the domus of rue Augusta at Auch (1st - end of 4th century AD)
Un ensemble de mosaïques inédites : le site de la rue Augusta à Auch (Ier - fin du IVe siècle de notre ère)
Résumé
The excavation of three Roman domus on 13 quater rue Augusta in Auch (Gers, France) revealed – in at least two of them – several pavements. As their respective styles are closely related to reliably dated contexts, these mosaics considerably enrich our knowledge of the “School of Aquitaine” and the mosaics of this area. This international presentation of the Auch pavements represents the first account of this discovery; a more complete study is forthcoming.
