The Importance of Technical Regulations for Reducing Light Pollution

Résumé

The actuality of light pollution was verify based on monographic research papers, but also on more focused fields, such as imaging measurement and other new measurement methods or the effects of the implementation of the SMART City concept. A special subchapter was dedicated to how the light pollution issue is regulated in the technical code of practice. The paper was developed with an emphasis on how technical regulations can be used and improved to reduce light pollution. Finally, the extent to which some lighting projects do not comply with technical prescriptions, and especially the exaggerated proportion in which light pollution is produced, is exemplified with imaging measurements of luminance for some facades.
