Pharmaceutical phase diagram: aspirin-caffeine-paracetamol
Résumé
In recent years, eutectic mixtures have been the subject of numerous scientifc studies aimed at improving the therapeutic
efcacy of drugs. In this work, we focused our attention on the eutectic mixture of aspirin, cafeine and paracetamol by
determining its coordinates, i.e., its composition and temperature. To do this, it is necessary to study the interactions between
these three components by establishing their phase diagram and taking into account their polymorphic behavior. All the
data were obtained by powder X-ray difraction and diferential scanning calorimetry. This review provides the composition
of the eutectic mixture aspirin, cafeine and paracetamol determined from the minimum tie-lines of the eutectic triangle as
well as its temperature. A description of the ternary surface of the liquid throughout the composition range is proposed. An
additional valley was observed in the ternary system due to cafeine polymorphism
