V-band Multi-port Waveguide Direct-Conversion Receiver: Design and M-ary PSK Demodulation Results
Résumé
This paper proposes an experimental validation of 60-GHz short-range wireless link using a robust multi-port direct conversion receiver based on waveguide technology. The employed multi-port waveguide structure is manufactured using brass material to achieve an excellent electrical conductivity and high corrosion resistance. The performances of direct conversion receiver based on the fabricated multi-port structure are experimentally demonstrated in terms of various M-ary PSK modulated signals (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, and 16 PSK) through a reliable test bench setup. The obtained results demonstrate the ability of the proposed multi-port receiver to accurately handle low-power input signals, while performing various direct M-ary PSK demodulation at 60 GHz millimeter-wave band. Moreover, the robustness, the higher corrosion and wear resistance of the fabricated multi-port structure make it a highly suitable for use in challenging outdoor environments, such as future V-band inter-building wireless links.
