Presence and intentionality in mystical experience
Présence et intentionnalité dans l'expérience mystique
Résumé
The aim of these few pages is not so much to present the terms and protagonists of a debate on the place of mysticism in or vis-à-vis the University in the twentieth century as to follow the thread of a reflection, initially internal to Catholicism, on the type of knowledge involved in the mystical experience, and on the possibility, limits or extension of this knowledge in the believer's life of faith. I propose here to retrace an indirect discussion between three authors of different generations, the Dominican theologian Ambroise Gardeil (1859-1931), the philosopher Jacques Maritain (1882-1973) and the Dominican philosopher Dominique Dubarle (1907-1987).
