The ”Road to Emar” Reconsidered
Résumé
Reedition and profound reexamination of three old Babylonian texts relating an inbound and outbound itinerary from Larsa to Imar via Aššur and Shubat-Enlil. The three texts have been edited in the 1960ies and are generally related to as ”old Babylonian itineraries” or ”Road to Emar”. The chapter is a interdisciplinary approach from philologists and archaeologistes of the ancient Near East and resprestents a step in historical geography of Mesopotamia. Several new proposals of identifications of ancient toponyms with archaeological sites have been made. Many detailed completely unpublished maps accompany the study.
