Interactions of both reeds in a channel of a diatonic harmonica
Résumé
We present two aeroacoustical models for the diatonic harmonica, a one reed model and a two reeds one in which we take into account of the reeds interactions and of the flow distribution between both reeds. The models, which generalize all the former existing ones, can predict all the playing modes used by musicians: normal notes, bends, overblows and overdraws. Except for very weak coupling (Kc ~0.6 N/m), where both models can give similar results, we must use the two reeds model in order to consider only one supplying velocity ug, to introduce the flow distribution and to be sure that the possible influence of the coupling can appear in the results.
