Résumé

Rubella vaccine is usually given in combination with measles and mumps vaccines (MMR). Because it contains live attenuated virus, its use is contraindicated during pregnancy. However, since the introduction of rubella vaccine, no cases of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) have been reported following vaccination during pregnancy. We report a case of a female infant, born to a woman inadvertently vaccinated with MMR early in pregnancy, who manifested a phenotype of cardiac and neurological defects, neurodevelopmental delay and lymphocytopenia consistent with CRS.
